Benefits to Replacing Your Windows
Maybe you’ve heard that replacing your old windows is a good idea, but they’re not causing enough problems for you to take that final step. While a leaking or broken window is the most likely reason for you to spring into action, consider some of these other benefits that new windows can provide:
- Improved Energy Efficiency: You’ve probably heard this one a lot. But new double-pane windows with Low-E and argon coating can work wonders on your home! You might not be aware of how much air is leaking out (or in) until you install news windows. This has the added benefit of improving your utility bills too.
- Enhanced Comfort: Do you have areas that seem to be cold and drafty in the winter and hot and uncomfortable in the summer? New windows will keep your home a more consistent temperature year round. Maybe you’ll get to ditch that extra sweater next winter.
- Increased Home Value: If you are thinking about selling your home, or just increasing your equity, then updated windows are a great investment. Not only do they look great and boost your curb appeal and add energy efficiency, which attracts more prospective buyers, but you’ll get more in the sale. Or just enjoy that increased value yourself.
- Better Security: Updated windows often come with more robust locking mechanisms than older ones. Especially if your older windows are at a point where the locks are broken.
- Reduced Noise: This is one of our favorite benefits and one that most people don’t know about ahead of time! Updated windows provide better sound insulation, which means it will actually get quieter in your house as less of the noise from the outside world gets in.
- Easy Cleaning: These windows provide what we call a “tilt wash,” where you simply tilt the window in to clean. Save time, effort, and climbing up ladders!

Frequently Asked Questions about Windows
Do your windows come with a warranty?
Absolutely! Your window installation will be covered by a warranty from the manufacturer for the materials themselves. After installation, we will provide you with the warranty information and anything you may need to apply for that warranty directly through the manufacturer.
In addition, all our window installations come with a lifetime labor warranty. This means if you have any issues with your windows after installation, we will come and fix those issues to keep your windows working great for years to come!
What areas do you serve in Kansas City?
We proudly serve homeowners throughout the greater Kansas City area on both sides of the state line. As a general rule of thumb, if you are within an hour or two of Kansas City in any direction, then you are inside our service area.
In Kansas, some of our most served areas include Overland Park, Mission, Leawood, Lenexa, Shawnee, Olathe, Leavenworth and surrounding areas.
In Missouri, some of our most served areas include Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown, and surrounding areas.
If you aren’t sure whether you are in our service range, please reach out and ask! We’re always happy to answer your questions and point you in the right direction if needed.
What does it mean that all your windows are custom ordered?
We do not keep stock sizes of windows sitting in a warehouse that can be pulled out and installed on your home. While this can be done, we find that measuring your windows to specifics and then ordering the custom window size that fits your house in the style you selected is the best way to ensure that the window fits properly.
This type of fitting ensures the window installation process goes more smoothly and creates a better seal on your home. Windows that are almost the right size, but not quite, can lead to air leaks, gaps, or introduce moisture into the window or under your siding. When custom ordered to fit, you are protecting your house and helping your window last longer!
What does your window installation process look like?
When we first send our team to your home for an initial consultation, we will explain the process to you and answer any questions that you might have. But here is what a typical installation window process looks like:
- Initial Consultation & Free Estimate: We’ll visit your home to discuss your needs, discuss the available options, look at the windows that need to be replaced, and offer an estimate before we leave that day.
- Measuring & Ordering: Once you approve the estimate, we send someone to your house to take all the necessary measurements needed to custom order windows in the correct sizes. While fulfillment times may vary depending on the time of year and the supply chain, the typical wait time is 4-6 weeks.
- Scheduling Installation: When your windows arrive, we will reach out to schedule an installation date(s) that work best for you.
- Installation Day: Our installation team will arrive to carefully remove your old windows, prepare the openings, and expertly install your new windows. Most window projects can be completed in a day, but if you are replacing a large number of windows, then the project could run to a second day.
- Cleanup & Walkthrough: After installation, we’ll thoroughly clean up all debris. Our project manager will do a final walkthrough to inspect all the new window installations, answer any questions, and ensure your complete satisfaction. We’ll provide you with all warranty information as well!
How long does window installation take?
Most window installations can be completed within a day, but other factors will affect this timeline including the complexity of the project and how many windows you are getting replaced. If you are also getting new siding installed or doors installed in addition to windows, this can also affect the timeline of the project.
Throughout the process, we will communicate expected timelines with you and how long the window installation process will take. You can also ask questions about installation during initial consultation concerning installation.
Are you Energy Star certified?
Kansas City Siding and Windows is proud to offer Energy Star certified energy-efficient windows!
Our glass manufacturer, Cardinal Glass, provides multiple Low-E (low-emissivity) glass options, which when combined with argon gas, creates the ultimate energy efficiency package for your home.
How do you price the cost of window installation?
When pricing the cost of your windows, we look at different factors to reach a quote. These include:
- Window Size and Style: Larger and more complex window styles will cost more.
- Window Material: The brand of window or the material used to build the window can affect how much it costs.
- Number of Windows: The more windows you order, the more it will cost. But the more windows you order, the lower the cost per window.
- Installation Complexity: If there is wood rot or other damage that we need to address in the installation process, this can increase the cost of the estimate.
- Special Features: Additional accessories like grids and full screens can add cost to your window package.
If you have any questions about how a price was decided on, ask our team during the consultation process!
Do you offer financing options?
Yes, we offer multiple financing options! We work with several vendors and options and can obtain financing for your project that way. If you’d like, we can help you with the application process.
If you prefer to pay for your installation outright, or pay for part of it and finance the rest, we can work with you on that front too! We accept different forms of payment including check and credit card, and can calculate down payments into financing and when those payments would start.
What if I have a problem with my new windows after installation?
As a local, family-owned business, it’s important to us to provide customer satisfaction across the board. We want you to be happy with your windows! If you have any issues after installation or have any questions, please reach out with those concerns, and we will work with you to get everything resolved.
If you have any other questions not covered here, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at 913-324-5569. We hope to work with you soon!
